International Congregation of the National Church of Iceland
“International Congregation of the National Church of Iceland” is not a specified congregation in a particular church-house. It is a concept that comprehends all the activities and fellowship with immigrants and refugees in this country that are being held on behalf of the National Church of Iceland.
At this moment (February 2019), they are Seekers prayer meeting at the Háteigs-church in Reykjavík, Seekers prayer meeting at the Keflavíkur-church and Sunday services and social evening at the Breiðholts-church in Reykjavík.
Besides those, the catechism class (class for the baptism), counseling service, various support for practical matters and etc. are being provided after neccessity and convenience for those who need them.

Gathering in English is held on every Sunday except on last Sunday of the month. The gathering begins at 2pm. Worship & Prayer service is hold on the 1st and 3rd Sunday, Holy Communion is held and on the 2nd Sunday of the month (could be moved to 3rd Sunday sometimes).
In the Worship & Prayer Service, the interpretation in Farsi follows usually, and it is because of there are many Farsi- speaking participants who don’t understand English well. We try to provide more languages in the interpretation if it is necessary.

Fellowship time with coffie follows the meetngs at the congregational hall. Those who want to join the Christian fellowship or to learn about Christianity are all welcome.
Social evening & Alpha course
The International Congregation of the Breiðholts-church launched a new activity, that would increase the fellowship among congregational members, and at the same time provide for the participants opportunity to get to know the Christian faith and understand it better.
This event is “Social evening & Alpha course” and it is held once a month (usually on the 3rd Friday evening). There we eat dinner together and then talk together along the Alpha carriculam. Alpha is very popular program for introducing Christianity to non-Christians world widely in many churches. Not at all difficult, just fun!
Seekers prayer meeting; Háteigs-church
Seekers prayer meeting at the Háteigs-church
Seekers prayer meeting is a community for prayer that is especially designed for asylum seekers in Iceland. But many of those who “used to be asylum seekers” (accepted as refugees) are participating, too. The meeting is also open for others who want to pray for asylum seekers/refugees and wish their well being.
The name of “Seekers” is coming from the idea that we all must be looking for something in our own lives on earth as well as actual asylum seekers as refugees.
Seekers prayer meeting at the Háteigs-church is held on Thurdsdays 15:00. Rev. Eva Björk Valdimarsdóttir and Rev. Ása Laufey Sæmundsdóttir (both district priest of Reykjavík west deanery) serve together with Toshiki Toma, pastor for immigrants.
